In honor of the work of soldiers and veterans across the world, the American Legion Auxiliary will distribute poppies on Friday, May 23 at the Stevens Point Post Office and on Saturday, May 24 in front of local retailers. The Poppy Drive, according to Auxiliary members, is the oldest program for the American Legion Auxiliary. The funds raised from the poppy sale will be used to support veterans.

Memorial Day activities in Burlington Flats will begin with a parade Monday. It will form at 1 p.m. on Route 51 and step off at 1:30 p.m., where it will proceed south on Route 51, turning onto Arnold Road and ending at the intersection of South Road to Memorial Park.
