The promise of the future met with past remembrances Friday night, as the Rector High School class of 2008 gathered a final time before making the transition from students in a small community to young adults seeking to find their place in the world.
That is the motto of the Rector High School Class of 2008, which will share an emotional farewell to high school days in commencement exercises at 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the school gymnasium.

William I. Ritchie Jr. William Isaac “Bill” Ritchie Jr., 66, of Stephens City, died Friday, May 9, 2008, in Frederick County, Virginia. Mr. Ritchie was born in 1942, in Baltimore, the son of William I. and Ruia C. Ritchie. He was an agent for 27 years with Nationwide Insurance in Woodstock.
